Last Summer

Edit
Bikini eyes
Fear and trembling
Openness
You said you trust me.
You said you don't know why.

Camouflage
Contact
Splattered paint
Crouching for cover
You told me to watch your back

Rain dance
Sunset
Chased by dogs
Trespass
And a hand in my hand.

Eyelids lined
Lost in the music
Dancing but we never
Stopped talking
You said you were good at hugs

Fun.
You open a wide freckled
Smile and
I don't know if I've ever
Felt like this.

Scattered wheat
Yellow jackets
Fresh breeze
Stiff climb
You told me you were scared

The aching almost
Walking circles over waters
The angst of not being honest with ourselves
You were leaving
We controlled ourselves
In love
But letting go
Because of love.
