Picket Fencing

Change in blue and red
Posterboy for the American something
Everybody's got a tea party to get to or some
Park or some FB wall to occupy
Discontent...jobs economy some-such-bullshit
The Cops shut down the protests.

Snowdennet is out to catch rabbit trails
And all your emails
And the shoe rule at the airport ensures exactly one thing:
That those unimaginative enough to try a terrorist attack
Exactly like one that came before it will be foiled.
A pat(down) on the back gives you a nice illusion of safety.

Your little white spikes on the front lawn
Aren't fooling no rabbits or robbers.
And your security system won't do you no good
When the reckoning comes.

The government is repeatedly eviscerated and blown to
Smithereens through film:  Independence Day, Red, Avengers,
Nikita, X-Men: Future Past.  There are demons in the machine.
Press pause for a minute, thank your stars,
And take a look at that nice border fence that walls in your
Your manicured utopian green.

"How are you?"
"It's been tough."
But you've already moved on with those nice picket teeth
Peeking out of a red lawn.

The problems are much more complicated than the books make it seem.
Touché.
But that still doesn't mean
We can't do anything.

I've got a five point plan to steal all the chain-link and
1x6s in this town,
Then take torches to the illusions
Of separations
You've got around.

I'm tired of table talk,
I'm tired of pretending like we're not
All damaged
I'm tired of pretending like
The world's okay.

So I'm sorry about the white 1x4 in
My eye, got me seeing red,
But no, I will not come down,
Until I see the lawns burning.
